Charge

Our nation's success in the 21st century will require developing ways in which metropolitan regions can grow their economies more equitably without harming the environment and human health. It is becoming apparent that our ecological and economic future is tied to living with nature, not apart from it. Changing technology, legislation, infrastructure, consumer habits, and human settlement patterns will require strong leadership, careful planning, and non-partisan public support. My charge is to build public awareness, advocate for sound planning, and provide policy analysis on the issue of sustainable land use and growth management.
